After months and months of blood sweat and tears. I have finally managed to launch my Cairns Family History Web Site onto the Internet on the 20th November 1999 the first pages became live and since that time I have been adding little bits and pieces here and there...

But before I start boasting about how cleaver I am. There are a few people that I have to thank for getting me here.

First and foremost my "Best friend" Walter Hampson. Thanks Pal for teaching me all I know about computer's. Thanks for putting up with my bad temper when things start to go badly wrong. Thanks for fixing my computer every time it breaks. But above all thank you for being such a good friend.

To my dear friend Yvonne "Bonnie" Bean... Thank you Bonnie for all the help and encouragement you have given me over the years. Without it, I would have given up the search for my ancestors years ago and my family tree would not have been as extensive as it is today. You not only helped me find my ancestors, you also helped me find long lost cousins. These web pages would not be here had it not been for the help you have given me. A million thanks... Dear Friend.

To Marie McCulloch... It's been a long time since I sent my last letter to you Marie but I think about sending the annual letter every year..... It's not that I forget, it's just that I can't remember. I owe you a very special mention Marie for had you not introduced me to Bonnie during my trip to Australia then the course of my life may have taken me a different path. My best regards to you and your family... I promise I will write you soon.

To the paperkeeper's and staff at Register House and the library staff at the Scottish and Edinburgh Room's of the Central Library Edinburgh for the miles and miles you have walked in your efforts to assist me trace my Roots. Thank you.

To Marion Richardson of the Midlothian Local Studies Library... Thank you Marion for all your help over the years... Your personal efforts to create a library that is a joy to visit has not gone un-noticed.... I remember well visiting the Local Studies Unit at the Old School at Roslin during some bitter winter evenings before the move to Loanhead.... Your warm welcome and cheerful chat helped me forget there was no heating.... Thanks Marion

I reserve my biggest vote of thanks to the Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter ~day Saints for their efforts to index the 1881 Census of UK , Church Records of Scotland and other records and for making this information accessible to All.

Thank You All...
